Thrive, Illinois a legal adult recreational use and medical cannabis dispensary is seeking an experienced Cashier/Sales Associate (Part-Time) in our Mt. Vernon location!

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Cashier/Sales staff greet purchasers as they enter the dispensary, share information regarding cannabis and its uses, provide quality experiences at checkout, confirm products purchased, and complete sales via cash or card with an unambiguous attention to detail.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in a busy cannabis dispensary. The dispensary area can be loud due to lots of people, ventilation fans, music, etc. Will be in almost constant contact with purchasers and co-workers. Work can be stressful and may include dealing with purchaser requests and questions, state inspectors, and law enforcement. Should be available to work varied hours and/or days, including nights, weekends, holidays, or possibly city events.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

• Greet purchasers at checkout and verify purchased product(s).
• Must keep current with the dispensary flow & product locations.
• Keep the dispensary area clean and tidy.
• Answer questions regarding products.
• Complete cash or card sales at the register.
• Will be required to perform cash and credit card transactions, as well as issuing receipts and give change due to purchasers.
• Answer the phone, take messages, and direct calls to the proper person when reception is not available.
• Keep non-sales area of the main floor clean.
• Assist in the online product reservation process.
• Assist with daily cash reconciliation process.
• Keep the dispensary sales floor, restrooms, kitchen, & office areas clean, sanitized & free of clutter.
• Recall of company, state & federal procedures & policies.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to operate patient management software such as LeafLogix.
• Detailed verification on accuracy of financial & transactional data.
• Knowledge of e-mail, web search engines, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations to convey information effectively.
• Critical thinking.
• Concise near vision for viewing details at close range.
• Ability to listen to and understand patients/purchasers and co-workers.
• Have knowledge of cannabis laws, cannabis effects, and conditions that can be treated with cannabis.
• Needs to be very organized and patient.
• Ability to work under pressure without losing composure.
• Ability to meet the needs of purchasers and coworkers without constant supervision.
• Ability to solve practical problems and operate a printer, scanner, and fax machine, etc.
• Ability to multi-task many diverse types of workloads
• Good memory & recall
• Exceptional customer service skills are a must with a friendly, warm, welcoming personality

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related sales with POS experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work requires periods of prolonged standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Requires normal range of hearing. Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a cash register, computer, telephone, calculator, printer, scanner, etc.

Pay: $13.50 - $15.50 per hour

• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
